Love for trees message via arts

The “Nature’s Gift of Trees” project is aiming to expand its message worldwide, encouraging a love for trees.

The creation by the Deco Art Group is among 11 art installations showcased at the 11th edition of “Installation Art by the Bay @KK 2024”, taking place at Tanjung Aru Beach from 20 to 23 September.

Local and international participants from Singapore, the United Kingdom, Finland, and Denmark are contributing their creativity to this year’s event.

One of the notable installations features the repurposed of old pillows into an art piece.

The pillows were tied with bows onto trees, symbolising gifts from Mother Nature and from God.

“The pillows represent the gifts that trees provide us and remind us of their value,” said Organising Chairman Christianne Goonting during the launch.

The exhibition was officiated by Sri Pelancongan Chief Executive Officer, Thonny Chee.

Christianne expressed hope that the initiative would inspire more people around the world to treasure and care for trees.

“These artworks aim to convey a message about environmental conservation.

“Each piece tells a story that encourages viewers to reflect on how they can contribute to saving the environment,” she said.
