Sabah offers mobile home caravan for rural tourism

Sabah’s tourism sector is set to gain from the mobile home caravan initiative by Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC), aimed at bolstering rural tourism.

This innovative Goway Series caravan, priced at RM120,000 and unveiled at the Big Sabah Sale event at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), is designed to offer a new, comfortable travel experience for tourists.

Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew praised the project, emphasizing its potential to attract both domestic and international tourists with its unique design and practical amenities, including a solar charging system, air-conditioner, water tanks, and a bath area.

Accommodating two adults and two children, this 3800mm by 2100mm model brings a novel form of travel accommodation to Sabah.

Chief Executive Officer of SCC Datuk George Taitim Tulas noted that tourism, a vital economic sector for Sabah, can benefit from the project’s support for small entrepreneurs looking to join the industry.

SCC is set to provide financial assistance, training, and maintenance services to new owners, creating accessible entry points into tourism entrepreneurship, particularly for unemployed graduates and school-leavers.
