KOTA KINABALU/9 Dec: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair Sabah is different from others because it emphasizes more on promotions.
Its Sabah and Labuan Chairman Lawrence Chin said the fair only allowed licensed agencies to participate and have always been a crowd puller for holiday packages.
To further enhance visitors’ experience at the physical fair, he said the travel agencies, hoteliers, bankers as well as other tourism related services offers great deals for travellers.
He was speaking at the launch of the 2nd Matta Fair Sabah for 2022 since Malaysia opened its borders in April this year.
“This special edition was organised in response to pent-up demand and to boost up local travel,” said Chin who is also the organising chairman.
As travellers prepared for their holidays, Matta Sabah advised travellers to be equipped with sufficient travel insurance cover to protect themselves from unforeseen circumstances.
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), which comprises Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings were on board as the official airlines for the Matta Fair.
MAG airlines will be giving away 27 tickets for the Buyers’ Contest which include economy class return tickets to Kuala Lumpur, Narita, Saigon, Langkawi and Penang.
The fair held at the 8th floor of Suria Sabah involves 33 booths to cater to meet and satisfy consumers’ demands by a variety of value-for-money domestic and international packages.
It is free admission to the fair from 10am-9pm until tomorrow.
