Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu reopened on 28 August 2024 with modernised rooms and enhanced guest services following a comprehensive 10-month renovation.
This exciting transformation presents a sense of tranquillity throughout the design and ambience of the hotel.
For 15 years, the hotel has been a trusted choice for travellers and is now repositioned with a modern style and expanded room sizes, ranging from 23 to 40 square metres.
Guests can enjoy city views and beautiful sunset sea views from rooms on higher floors.
The newly designed family suites provide a comfortable space for friends and family to share and enjoy their holiday together.

The hotel has integrated eco-friendly practices, including using recycled kraft paper for i toiletries supplies and packaging, installing more water dispensers, upgrading to energy-efficient LED lighting and air conditioning systems, and introducing new eco-friendly minibars to showcase its commitment to sustainability.
Guests are greeted by lush greenery upon entering the newly expanded hotel lobby, which offers additional seating and a welcoming atmosphere.
New facilities include a new surau, two function rooms on the top floor, and an executive lounge.
All rooms are equipped with upgraded hospitality TVs featuring streaming capabilities and flight schedule checks.
Enhanced security measures include lift access control and after-hours main entrance access via room key cards.
As part of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, which include corporate social responsibility (CSR), the hotel offers complimentary use of its function halls to non-governmental charitable organisations on the last Sunday of each month, subject to availability.
To celebrate its reopening, the hotel is offering exclusive discounted rates for direct bookings made from 28 August 2024 to 15 September 2024.
