Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta) Chairman, Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw, said the programme no longer serves solely as a religious festival but has been included in the Sabah Tourism Board’s calendar of events.
“This cultural event has become a tourism attraction, showcasing the state’s religious diversity to international visitors,” said Liaw.
He stated this after, along with the organising committee members, paying a courtesy call on the Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin.
Chan has been invited to officiate the event on October 6 at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu.
The event, which will see the participation of various temples, will include a procession from Padang Merdeka to Oceanus shopping mall, Lintas, Damai, and will end at the Foh Sang commercial centre.
A series of activities will be held from October 3 to 11
