Two China’s tour agencies keen to bring in 450k visitors to Malaysia

Malaysia is set to welcome 450,000 visitors from China, as two tour agencies have signed agreements with the Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry.

The deal was struck during its Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing’s recent visit to China with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, where he stayed on until April 11 to promote tourism to Malaysia.

The two tour agencies have asked for more straightforward visa application procedures and more passenger capacity on flights between the two countries.

In response to these requests, Tiong said his ministry will hold a series of meetings with relevant authorities, including the immigration department, to address these issues.

This is a continuing efforts to reach its target of five million tourist arrivals from China by 2023.
