Sabah to be promoted via fun travel activities book

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah film production company, Vinoun Films, has created an educational colouring guidebook for Rajawali Homes in Kota Marudu.

The book features fun activities and attractions along the way from Kota Belud to Kudat division area.

The complimentary activity book includes two main bird characters, Kondiu (eagle) and Odu (grandmother) dressed in traditional Kadazandusun garb, which are registered as intellectual property for Vinoun Films.

The company hopes to expand to other hotels in west coast, interior and east coast divisions of Sabah and produce children’s animations to promote indigenous language and culture.

The firm’s co-founder Rachel Ongkili and her team met with Sabah Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai to present their adventure book and explore future opportunities for partnership with Sabah Tourism Board.

Joniston praised Vinoun Films’ creative works, saying that showcasing Sabah culture through animation and books can bring about positive changes for the local community and help to preserve and promote Sabah’s cultural identity
