At that time, it was participated by 199 craft entrepreneurs from Sabah and Sarawak, with over 30,000 visitors recorded, she said.

To boost the sale, Ainu said an incentive vouchers amounting to RM3 million has been offered to buyers since Sept 16 during Malaysia Day celebration.

The consumers can use the voucher to purchase the handicraft products to enjoy RM30 discount for every purchase worth RM100.

The voucher valid to be used at BCF 2022, at all the sale centres and galleries of Kraftangan Malaysia nationwide,  craft complexes and Karyaneka outlets.

The initiative has contributed to an increase in the sales of craft as until Aug 2022, it had achieved 93.2 per cent or RM186.4 million of the targeted RM200 million.

It had also spurred the number of craft communities to 26,054 people from 25,592 people last year, she said.-HS
