Holiday Inn to implement IHG Clean Promise programme

KOTA KINABALU: Holiday Inn Express Kota Kinabalu has taken steps to enhance the safety and cleanliness of its premises when opening for business in downtown Kota Kinabalu by end of this year.

The hotel management will implement the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) very own “Clean Promise” programme at their Kota Kinabalu establishment.

The programme was rolled out globally from 1 June 2020 to heightened the cleanliness standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Holiday Inn Express Kota Kinabalu and Holiday Inn Express Singapore Cluster General Manager, Najeeb Kurungottu said: “Using new, science-led protocols and service measures, partnering with industry leading experts such as Cleveland Clinic, Ecolab and Diversey, and launching a global IHG Clean Promise, will give guests greater confidence in their management.”

Najeeb said this when paying a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister cum Industrial Development Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam at his office here.

Najeeb also briefed him that Holiday Inn Express had also gained extensive collaboration and support from the State Tourism Ministry and Sabah Tourism Board.

Hence, Dr Joachim said the government encourages tourism players and hospitality industry to stay proactive and hope the Movement Control Order will be relaxed by end of December.
