STB to hold light art show at Gaya Street

The Sabah Tourism Board (STB) will present the lampoopalooza, an illuminating festival merging art and light on Feb 2, 2024.

STB building hosts a dazzling laser show, complemented by solar-powered water tank installations and local glow art, symbolising innovation and social responsibility.

Embracing sustainability, solar panels powering the tanks will be donated to Kampung Timpayasa post-event.

Collaborating with Japson Wong and Tonibung, this initiative empowers the community with renewable energy.

The festival also collaborates with Sabah Art Gallery and artists Azlan Dulikab and Rosmaini Sunarjo, showcasing glow-in-the-dark paintings.

Post-festival, these artworks will be donated to rural schools. Partnering with the Malaysia Association of Hotels, lampoopalooza introduces hotel culinary delights through pop-up stalls.

This family-friendly event, held along Gaya Street from 6:30 pm to 11pm, promises a sensory feast celebrating light, music, food, and community empowerment. More details on the lampoopalooza event page on Facebook.
