The Federation of Rural Tourism Association Sabah (FeRTAS) is set to promote rural tourism to tour agents from Nov 17-19, during the Sabah Community Based Tourism Fair 2023.
Twelve operators, including Nabalu, Kiulu, and Ranau, will engage in a B2B session with key industry players.
The event aims to familiarise agents with rural community tourism and guide operators on effective marketing.
The fair, co-organised by Sabah Tourism Board and FeRTAS, will be launched by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor officiating.
This year’s fair includes Labuan and Brunei, marking cross-border collaboration. The three-day event offers talks, quizzes, cultural performances, traditional games, and a children’s colouring contest.
The involvement of neighbouring countries enhances rural tourism’s sustainable development.
About 40 booths, showcasing tourism associations and ministries, contributing to the momentum in rural community tourism promotion.
