STB wins PATA gold award

The Sabah Tourism Board (STB) proudly announces its recent achievement, securing the esteemed PATA Gold Award in the ‘Travel Video – Catching Sabah’ category at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart held in New Delhi, India.

The winning 5:45-minute video, a collaboration with Huntwo Studios, brilliantly showcases Sabah’s diverse attractions, from urban exploration to natural wonders, wildlife encounters, underwater marvels, culinary delights, cultural heritage, and its multiethnic communities.

Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister and STB Chairman, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, along with CEO Noredah Othman, received this prestigious award during the PATA Gold Awards Lunch and Presentation, graciously hosted by the Macao Government Tourism Office.

The award was presented by Macao Government Tourism Officer Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and PATA Chairman Peter Semone.

Joniston emphasized the transformative impact of STB’s promotional videos, pledging to maintain the momentum in showcasing Sabah’s tourism potential to a global audience.

STB remains committed to creating innovative and creative marketing efforts that appeal to all types of travellers, from leisure to business.

STB’s recent accolades include Asia’s Leading Regional Tourist Board at the 30th Annual World Travel Awards and a bronze award for Best Communication of Social Media at the 4th Asean PR Excellence Awards.

Joniston’s visit to India was not only to accept the award but also to engage with industry leaders at the PATA Travel Mart, fostering valuable connections, and promoting Sabah’s wonders to the world.
