The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair Sabah is gearing up for the year-end holidays, offering a wide range of packages.
The second edition of Matta Fair Sabah for 2023 will take place from Oct 13 to 15 at the Sabah International Convention Centre.
Over 60 booths with around 40 exhibitors will showcase various travel-related services.
Matta Sabah Chairman, Christina Wahida Kong, anticipates around 15,000 visitors during the three-day fair, with an estimated total sales turnover of RM25 million.
This projection is driven by the travel boom expected during the upcoming school and year-end holidays, Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year in Feb 2024.
Preferred domestic destinations are expected to include Sabah, Langkawi, Sarawak, and Penang.
Local inbound operators in Semporna, Sandakan, and Tawau are also likely to receive a positive response.
For international travel, destinations like the Balkans, Alaska, Europe, UAE, and more are expected to draw interest.
There are also attractive Islamic packages for those wishing to visit Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage and umrah.
The Malaysia Aviation Group, including Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, and MASwings, will offer services and discounts.
Bank Rakyat is participating as an official bank to promote special offers for travelers.
To entice visitors, there will be 15 buyer contest lucky draw prizes worth RM30,000, with the main prize being a return air ticket to Melbourne.
Consumers can enter the lucky draw with a minimum purchase of RM100.
The fair will be open from 10 am to 9 pm for three days, and admission is free.
