Sabah’s rise as a sustainable MICE tourism destination showcases its potential, despite being in its early stages.

Noredah Othman, CEO of the Sabah Tourism Board (STB), highlighted the state’s commitment to conservation, positioning it as a sustainable business events location.

Sabah is gearing up from being a leisure destination to host impactful business events following the establishment of Sabah International Convention Centre.

Noredah, an Executive Board Member of PATA, shared insights on Sustainability in MICE Tourism at the PATA Forum held alongside the PATA Travel Mart in New Delhi.

Sabah looks to established MICE destinations such as Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok for inspiration while prioritizing sustainability.

Noredah underlined the enriching experience for MICE participants in Sabah, with a focus on conservation and preservation initiatives.

Sabah’s Assistant Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister cum STB Chairman, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, led the STB delegation to India, joined by STB Deputy CEO Julinus Jimit and Senior Marketing Manager Humphrey Ginibun.
