KUNAK: Assistant Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai receiving an update from Kunak Tourism Association president Mohammad Hatta Arabi and Kunak forestry officer Suzali Abd Ben on the progress of the renovations being done at the Sejadi Madai Information Centre in Kunak.
The improved visitor centre in the Sejadi Madai Baturong Forest Reserve will showcase Kunak as a strategic tourism destination product, while also highlighting neighbouring districts of Tawau, Semporna, and Lahad Datu.
The impending new information centre was formerly a gallery that was run by the Forestry Department, and it is going to provide visitors with interactive digital content when it opens.
The Sabah Tourism Board, according to Joniston, would continue to encourage and enable collaboration among key players to elevate and promote Kunak as a destination with hidden gems.
Along with a product team from the Sabah Tourism Board, Joniston was in Kunak to inspect prospective products that could be introduced to visitors.-HS
