KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Tea is offering a total cash prize of RM4,800 for their Sabah Tea Jingle Contest in video or live in person performance starting from November 15 at 12.01am to December 31 at 11.59pm.
Sabah Tea Resort Sdn Bhd, general manager Martin Kong said the contest offers participants an opportunity to showcase their original creative skills in composing original jingle for Sabah Tea including its music and lyrics.
According to him, the contest is open to Malaysians and its legal residents, aged 16 and above. Employees of Sabah Tea and any related companies, sponsors and families are not allowed to enter.
During the promotion period, he said eligible contestants (individual or up to three people in a group) are required to submit a video of them performing their 20 to 25 seconds original jingle in English language to sabahtearesort@gmail.com complete with their particular details.
Multiple entries from the same person will not be accepted, he added.
Between five to 10 videos will be selected and uploaded on Sabah Tea Resort’s Facebook and Instagram social media sites from which the public will vote their favourites via ‘Likes’ to determine the top three finalists.
“A panel of judges would then select the winners in running order through a live performance in January 2021, whether in person (in Kota Kinabalu) or through Zoom (in the event of travel restrictions),” Martin said.
The judging criteria will be based on the originality of the song including music and lyrics with appropriate representation of Sabah Tea, vocal quality and stage presence, he said, adding that the winner will be announced in February 2021.
The top three winners will respectively get cash prizes of RM3,000; RM1,000 and RM800.-HS
