KOTA KINABALU: Traverse Tours Sdn Bhd, the operator of Riverbug, Mari Mari Cultural Village, Mari Mari Mantanani and Mari Mari Sepanggar will resume its tourism activities from June 10 onwards.

Its managing director, Dares Saham Asaad said the reopening of business operation was in line with the announcement made by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal who included tourism as one of the sectors during the fifth phase of the movement control order (MCO).

“With the extended MCO until June 9, we will be operating our business and conduct all our tours with the new norm and standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the government.

“We are ready to serve better according to the new norm. We done the cleaning of the interior and exterior of our buildings, equipment and maintenance tasks.

“We also conduct our tour simulation exercise as part of our SOP before we start to run the tour from June 10 onwards,” Dares said.

The simulation exercise includes creating a new awareness and making consensus decisions, solving complex problems and managing different viewpoints and perspectives of Covid-19.

“We believe there are endless ways of contributing back to our local community and we hope the Covid-19 pandemic will be over soon as every cloud has a silver lining for those who stayed resilient in facing the adversity,” he said, adding that reservations can be made via email or hotline from June 10 onwards.-HS
