The Sabah Government has allocated RM56.75 million in financial assistance to schools and non-Islamic religious bodies for 2024, an increase of RM2.7 million from the previous year.
This record allocation was announced by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun during the State Budget 2024 presentation in the State Assembly.
Datuk Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Financial Aid Committee, stated that the handover ceremony will take place between 28 October and 26 November 2024 across six zones in Sabah.
The events will commence on 28 October in the South West Coast zone at Menara Kinabalu, officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Masidi.
The beneficiaries include national-type primary and secondary schools, private schools, kindergartens, and religious bodies such as churches and temples.
Chia emphasised the government’s commitment to improving educational and religious institutions, with the aim of supporting human capital development and reducing the financial burden on these entities for maintenance and infrastructure improvements.
