Tawau-Semporna road needs improvement

Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew stated she will discuss with Ken Pan Ying On to improve the road safety of the accident-prone Tawau-Semporna road.

Ken is the person-in-charge of tourism development in Tawau and Semporna.

She remarked this following a collision between a tour bus (headed for Semporna) and a lorry trailer at Jalan Kalumpang Km20 along Jalan Semporna-Tawau.

The accident claimed the lives of two tourists, a Singaporean, 60, and a VietnameseĀ  40, on Monday afternoon.

“Let us wait for the outcome of police investigation into the cause of the incident,” said Liew who extended her condolences to the families of the victims.
