Sabah is set to end 2023 with a flourish, featuring a variety of cultural events throughout December.
Launched by Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew, the DEC-Cover Sabah Campaign aims to boost the state’s tourism sector.
Liew invites everyone to partake in the festivities, emphasising the celebration’s focus on Sabah’s cultural richness and community engagement.
The month-long campaign includes the Sabah Tanah Airku Countdown Mega Run 2023, Kembara Apresiasi Sabah Day, family fun run, Miss Merdeka Sabah 2023, Battle of Buskers, Borneo Culture Festival, Tamu-Bah markets, Jelajah Sabah Foodie, and more.
Notably, a blood donation drive by the Amnesty Blood Organisation (ABO) on Dec 31, 2023, aims to bolster the blood bank’s reserves, leveraging New Year’s Eve crowds for potential donors, while also promoting awareness and understanding of blood donation through educational efforts.
Organised by Rock Maestro Sdn Bhd and Awesome Borneo Holidays Sdn Bhd, the campaign reflects a commitment to celebrating and empowering Sabah’s rich heritage, diverse cultures, and unique ethnicities, marking a significant milestone in the state’s tourism landscape.
