500 jobs to be created by InterContinental Resort

A RM1 billion 5-star InterContinental Resort is set to elevate Sabah’s hospitality industry in Melinsung, Papar.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor expressed gratitude to Sinyi Group and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) for selecting Sabah for this strategic investment.

Emphasizing the resort’s broader impact, he highlighted the creation of over 500 jobs and its contribution to tourism growth.

The location aligns with upcoming infrastructure developments, including the Pengalat-Papar bypass and Lok Kawi Road upgrades.

To address water supply, a RM379 million Kogopon Water Treatment Plant upgrade aims to produce 80 million litres daily, benefiting the Papar district and supporting local enterprises and industries like the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) and Sabah Agro-Industrial Precinct (SAIP).
