Api-Api night market stalls expanded

Kota Kinabalu City Hall is expanding the Api-Api night food market, which is held on every Friday and Saturday by adding stalls in blocks C and D along Gaya Street.

This decision was following the increasing number of tourists, reached one million visitors in the first half of 2023, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew.

Around 50 new stalls will be added, equipped with free bins for maintaining cleanliness. Currently, only blocks A and B open with 95 stalls.

Additionally, two new night market areas, Bandaran Berjaya and D’Suang Sadong Jaya, will start operating at the end of August.

Bandaran Berjaya will have 30 stalls open from Monday to Thursday, featuring busker performances.

D’Suang Sadong Jaya, with 40 stalls, will offer seasonal fruits and food with a BBQ concept, along with entertainment and children’s activities.

“These initiatives aim to boost the local economy and attract 1,000 to 2,000 nightly visitors,” said Liew.
