Shuttle service for tourist spots in Tuaran

TUARAN/Sept 27:  A shuttle service for tourists was launched to mark World Tourism Day at Shangri-La Rasa Ria.

Sabah Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai who launch the programme said the eagerly waited service can now bring tourists from Rasa Ria to Tamparuli tamu, Rumah Terbalik and the Chanteek Museum.

Further away, the visitors can continue their tour to the Crocodile Farm which housed Susui Sangod Borneo and the Bajau House, among others.

At the same time, Joniston also launch the moniker of Tuaran as the Land of Linangkit, which is a Dusun Lotud motifs used by the tribe in their traditional dresses.

As for the World Tourism Day, themed “Rethinking Tourism”, the celebration focuses on the future of the industry.

It means putting people and the planet first and bringing everyone from governments and businesses to local communities together around a shared vision for a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient sector.

Among those present were Sabah Tourism Board chief executive officer Noredah Othman, United Tuaran Tourism Association president Alexander Yee and Rasa Ria’s general manager Fiona Hagan.-HS.
