The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has
announced the scheduled reopening of 127 national parks across Thailand from 1
July, following the temporary closure from 25 March as part of the nationwide
effort to contain the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
From 1 July, a
total of 64 national parks will be fully reopened and another 63 will partially
reopen.
Thailand has ranked
second best in the world out of 184 countries for its ongoing COVID-19 recovery
effort, according to a study produced by the World Health Organisation (WHO)
and top-level organisations in Malaysia.
As of mid-June, it
is probably fair to say that Thailand has emerged victorious in the fight
against the first wave of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak with far fewer
community spread infections and fatalities than expected.
