KOTA KINABALU: 20 Aug 2026
Sabah-born fast-food brand Borenos Fried Chicken opened its Imago Shopping Mall outlet on Thursday, bringing its total number of outlets nationwide to 10.
This follows the launch of its outlet in Bangi, Selangor, on Aug 11, bringing its total to three outlets in Peninsular Malaysia and seven in Sabah.
The Imago outlet was officiated by Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, Deputy Chief Minister II and Finance Minister.
The celebration also featured a traditional cultural dance performance in front of the outlet.
Its chief executive officer, Janice Yeo, thanked the team, partners and customers for their support, while reaffirming the brand’s Sabahan roots.
“Today, outlet number 10 is not the finishing line. It is another beginning. As we grow beyond Sabah, we carry something very important with us – the warmth, hospitality and spirit of Sabah,” said Janice.
The Imago outlet is located in a mall that attracts Sabahans and visitors from across Malaysia and overseas.
Borenos has also received recognition in the food and beverage industry. The halal-certified Malaysian brand received The BrandLaureate World Halal BestBrands Awards 2026 – Signature Brand.
It has also been recognised at the GrabFood 5-Star Awards for three consecutive years, including Best Western Food in 2023 and Crowd’s Favourite Western Food in 2024 and 2025.
