Lights Out at Hard Rock Cafe Kota Kinabalu

The Hard Rock Cafe Kota Kinabalu has ceased business effective 30 April 2020, after five years in operations due to the economy trying times now.

The one and only world famous chain restaurant in Sabah was launched on 1 April 2015 at the Oceanus Shopping Mall in downtown Kota Kinabalu.

The closure was largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has effectively crippled the industries.

In a statement to all their friends and customers, the management stated: “We have carried out extensive cost management measures since Covid 19 was first discovered early this year.

“Since then the pandemic has taken a huge impact on us financially. With the implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO) by the government since 18 March 2020, the opportunity  for us to regain the losses was made impossible as all travelling activities came to a halt.

Unfortunately, this pandemic is not showing any sign of slowing down and is crippling the entire F&B industries world wide.

“The cafe has been suffering losses for past years even before the pandemic but we have continued to shoulder on and keep all of our employees and other stake holders.

“However,  despite all the efforts we put in, we have failed to sustain the business any longer. The company is  left with no other options but to cease operation  effective 30 April 2020.

“We want to thank you for your support you have shown throughout the years and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”-HS
