TAED promote marine conservation

Tanjung Aru Eco Development (TAED) hosted a one-day marine conservation programme at Prince Philip Park, Tanjung Aru recently.

Themed ‘Recycle, Revive, Oceans Alive! was collaboration efforts of TAED with Tame Centre, Seoul National University, and University Malaysia Sabah.

This initiative aimed to raise public awareness about marine ecosystems.

TAED General Manager Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin expressed interest in future collaborations.

Tame Coordinator Michael Yap highlighted the programme’s role in SNU’s 2024 winter global volunteering, fostering cultural exchange.

Emphasizing collective efforts, Yap stressed the need for local, national, and transboundary cooperation for successful marine conservation.

Activities included a photo exhibition, survival games, and upcycling plastic waste into keyrings.

The event also contributes to the ongoing SNU in Malaysia Programme, lasting from Jan 7 to 21, 2024.
