KOTA KINABALU: To mark its reopening after the easing of Recovery Movement Control Order, the Gayana Marine Resort on Pulau Gaya here is offering attractive Staycation packages for the weekends from now until the end of October.

In the offing is their 45 units of overwater tropical villas fronting the sea and Marine Ecology Research Centre – which propagates endangered giant clams and coral reefs.

Guests are encouraged to visit the centre and learn about its marine conservation programmes.

The resort’s three dining venues present a wide variety of gastronomic delights: Western fusion food with a distinctly Malaysian twist including wood-fired pizzas in the all-day dining Macac Restaurant; and sunset cocktails in the Latitude Bar.

With an emphasis on its farm to plate philosophy, the menus feature fresh organic seafood and vegetables from Borneo Eco Fish and Green- O’s.

Besides water activities, guests will be kept fully occupied with a choice of activities such as a fun walk, blow pipe demonstration, weaving, napkin folding, pizza making, cupcake decorating, bartending and more all organised with Covid-19 safety considerations in mind.

Covid-19 safety measures set in place include individual life vests and masks, temperature scanning, wide availability of hand sanitizers, social distancing protocols, resort app in place of printed room collaterals and blackboard menus instead of hard copies.

Guests are also given personal aluminum water canisters to refill at water points.  All villas will be completely sanitized after each check-out for three days in addition to frequent sanitization of all facilities and areas.

Staycation period is Friday to Sunday only. The rates are RM550 nett per room night/Ocean Villa (RM850 nett).-HS
