Tanjung Aru’s first beach parking to close for good

Effective from Dec 24, 2023, the parking area at Tanjung Aru’s first beach will be permanently closed, and vehicles are not permitted to park there.

However, stall operators are permitted to enter the area for delivery and pick-up purposes only, up until 1pm daily.

“To ensure sufficient parking spaces are always available to accommodate visitors to Tanjung Aru Beach, Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAED) has expanded parking two, adding over 200 parking spaces. We have also made improvements to parking one for users’ convenience.

“Additionally, covered and lighted walkways will be constructed to connect parking one and parking two to the hawkers’ stalls area.

“We hope this new arrangement will alleviate traffic congestion along Jalan Aru and Mat Salleh without inconveniencing Tanjung Aru Beach visitors,” said TAED General Manager Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin.

“In conjunction with the Christmas and New Year celebrations, parking charges for parking one and two will be waived from December 24 to 31, 2023,” he added.

The daily traffic congestion around Jalan Aru and Jalan Mat Salleh has been a long-standing concern for both the public and Tanjung Aru residents. It is hoped that this new arrangement by TAED will enhance the driving experience along these roads.
