Plans to create cross-border riding on Borneo Island

DZ Bikers Malaysia, led by Datuk Zailan Mohamed, plans to create a cross-border riding circuit on Borneo Island to promote motorcycle tourism in Malaysia.

The circuit would connect Sabah, Brunei, Sarawak and Kalimantan.

However, he said challenges with Indonesian authorities need to be addressed for border crossings.

He said this during the “Kembara Borneo 2023” flagging off ceremony for 40 riders from Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

They will ride from Kota Kinabalu to Miri, Sibu, Serian, Pontianak and Kuching from Sept 10 to 15, culminating in Malaysia Day celebrations on Sept 16.

They hope to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in Sibu. The royal and his entourage is on “Kembara Kenali Borneo” programme in Sarawak.

Along the way, the riders hope to foster friendship with the people in the places that they pass by to promote national integration.
