{"id":581,"date":"2020-10-13T13:43:10","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T13:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/?p=581"},"modified":"2020-10-13T13:43:13","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T13:43:13","slug":"11-cultural-centres-to-be-built-in-sabah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/?p=581","title":{"rendered":"11 cultural centres to be built in Sabah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"462\" src=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG-20201013-WA0020.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-582\" srcset=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG-20201013-WA0020.jpg 800w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG-20201013-WA0020-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG-20201013-WA0020-768x444.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>Jafry (2nd right) received two books from Mackey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Tourism,\nCulture and Environment is planning to build 11 cultural centres in selected\ndistricts in Sabah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its newly minted Minister, Datuk Jafry\nAriffin disclosed that they are now in the process of acquiring the lands for\nthe construction and it will be gazetted for the Sabah Cultural Board (SCB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed the cultural centres will not only showcase the traditional customs of the indigenous people but will also to promote tourism products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also assured that the ministry is committed to make sure the cultural heritage in the state will not become obsolete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this reason, he said the ministry will support all the initiatives undertaken by SCB to preserve the cultures and customs of the ethnic groups in Sabah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Sabah has a rich and unique cultures, and with the financial support from the state government, efforts to promote the cultural diversity can be intensified,&#8221; he said after a briefing session at SCB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said Sabah diverse cultural heritage\u00a0are derived from the various races and ethnicities, thus it must be protected to reflect the identity of the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also expressed his concern on the\nwelfare of SCB employees as some of them still part-time daily workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEmployees are a valuable asset for an\norganization or company and taking care of their welfare is an important\nfoundation in ensuring that they can work harder and more\nenthusiastically,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also inspected the dilapidated condition\nof the SCB building which need immediate repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also present were Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and SCB General Manager Mackey Apison.-HS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment is planning to build 11 cultural centres in selected districts in Sabah.
