{"id":565,"date":"2020-09-25T14:32:55","date_gmt":"2020-09-25T14:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/?p=565"},"modified":"2020-09-25T14:32:57","modified_gmt":"2020-09-25T14:32:57","slug":"taman-kinabalu-to-be-closed-for-disinfection-of-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/?p=565","title":{"rendered":"Taman Kinabalu to be closed for disinfection of Covid-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MtKinaHS.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MtKinaHS.jpg 800w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MtKinaHS-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MtKinaHS-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/MtKinaHS-475x356.jpg 475w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>Mount Kinabalu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Health\nMalaysia (MOH) has issued a closing order notice to the Sabah Parks on\nSeptember 24, following the detection of a COVID-19 patient who climbed Mount\nKinabalu on September 13-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, the Taman Kinabalu headquarters,\nKundasang would be closed for 14 days starting from September 25 to October 8,\nannounced Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment permanent secretary Dr\nJamili Nais in statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this period, the park and climbing\nactivities will not be open to visitors and climbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The park has set up the COVID-19 control centre\nto conduct the COVID-19 screening test together with MOH on those having close\ncontact with the mountain guides, climbers and the staff involved in the\nclimbing activities, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/ClimbHS-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-567\" width=\"238\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/ClimbHS-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/ClimbHS-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/ClimbHS.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 238px) 100vw, 238px\" \/><figcaption>On the way up to the Panalaban Station<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A thorough disinfection operation was\ncarried out on tourist facilities along the climbing route to Mount Kinabalu\nincluding at Panalaban Station during the closing period, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, he said due to increase of\nCOVID-19 infection in the east coast, especially in Tawau and Semporna which is\nnow a red zone, the Sabah Parks have carried out disinfection operations in\nthree parks namely: Taman Bukit Tawau (Tawau), Tun Sakaran Marine Park\n(Semporna) and Sipadan Island Park (Semporna) for seven days starting from\nSeptember 24 to 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese three parks will not be open to\nvisitors and the public during disinfection operations,\u201d Dr Jamili stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other parks that are free from COVID-19&nbsp; disease such as Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman\n(Kota Kinabalu), Taman Pulau Penyu (Sandakan), Taman Banjaran Crocker\n(Keningau, Tambunan, Tenom), Taman Pulau Tiga (Kuala Penyu) and Taman Tun\nMustapha (Kudat) are still open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, he said other Kinabalu Park stations\nsuch as Poring Hot Springs (Ranau), Serinsim sub-station (Kota Marudu), Sayap sub-station\n(Kota Belud), Monggis sub-station (Ranau) and Nalapak sub-station (Kota&nbsp; Marudu) is free from COVID-19 disease and is\nopen to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has issued a closing order notice to the Sabah Parks on September 24, following the detection of a COVID-19 patient who climbed Mount Kinabalu on September 13-14.
