Justin Chong of Chong Fui Travel has been elected the new chairman of the Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta) for the 2026\u20132028 term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He garnered 19 votes to defeat incumbent Dato\u2019 Seri Winston Liaw, who secured 10 votes, during the association\u2019s annual general meeting attended by 29 members at a hotel here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new team includes Augustine Tay as vice-chairman, Samantha Liaw as treasurer, Lisa Chong as secretary and Alvin Quek as vice-secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Committee members are Shim Vun Ming, Sylvia Joanne, Tatianna Chiang, Datin Azlena Poniman, Teo Chee Kim and Tan Chee Hwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe sincerely thank all members for their strong support and trust in electing a new committee to lead the association towards greater achievements,\u201d Justin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the newly elected team would continue to uphold the spirit of unity and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe remain committed to strengthening ties within the industry, safeguarding the interests of members, and promoting the sustainable growth of Sabah\u2019s tourism sector,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justin said Satta would also work closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (Motac) and Tourism Malaysia to support and promote initiatives under Visit Malaysia Year 2026, further enhancing Sabah and Malaysia\u2019s presence in the international tourism market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith the continued support of our members and the dedication of the new team, Satta will strive to play a significant role in advancing the tourism industry and achieving new milestones for Visit Malaysia Year 2026,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also expressed appreciation to members for their confidence and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
