Now we want to spread the word to draw more people here to enjoy the authentic cuisine,&#8221; he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery aligncenter columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"766\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/IMG-20220926-WA0032-766x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1239\" class=\"wp-image-1239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/IMG-20220926-WA0032-766x1024.jpg 766w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/IMG-20220926-WA0032-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/IMG-20220926-WA0032-768x1026.jpg 768w, https:\/\/holidaysabah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/IMG-20220926-WA0032.jpg 958w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-caption wp-element-caption\">Yam pork<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He also hoped that the Kudat district, which also has a sizable Hakka population, would be inspired by the initiative taken by Tenom&#8217;s Hakka community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joniston said expanding gastronomic tourism in this interior district would allow Tenom to capitalise on the demand for authentic Hakka experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a good start to elevate the Hakka community and I see the potential of expanding this effort to other districts, where there is a Hakka population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe at the Sabah Tourism Board see this as an effort to bring in more tourists, especially the Chinese, and I am confident this authentic experience will become a hit not only for tourists but also locals,\u201d he said.-HS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TENOM: The only Hakka community of Kampung Lagud has now ventured into tourism to promote their cuisine and culture.
