KOTA KINABALU: Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) are all geared for the much anticipated “A Taste of ASIAN” Ramadan Dinner Buffet from March 31 March to April 21.
“Our team have been working hard to ensure this year’s ramadan dinner buffet will be another wholesome experience for the whole family and friends as well as corporate groups”, said CEO Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki during a get-together fast breaking event with media and guests of SICC.
SICC also hosted 45 residents from Pusat Pengajian Tahfiz Al-Quran As-Syatibiyah, Masjid USIA Bandar Kota Kinabalu and Ma’had Tahfiz Miftahul Ulum Tanjung Aru in conjunction with ramadan.
“We invited the residents to come and savour the 700 dishes offered in our buffet today. It’s a just a simple gathering between the residents, our guests, the media, the management as well as the associates of SICC to share the spirit of sharing,” she added.
The team is re-introduced the generous spread of 700 dishes showcasing authentic fares of traditional menu diraja, Asian food delights, international flavours as well as exciting desserts.
Heading the culinary team is the director Chef Mohd Firdaous Mohd Izhar and his team of 40 local talents who hail from diverse ethnics as well as backgrounds.
“They mastered the dishes while working in various venues around the country. Our kitchen uses only fresh ingredients and spices, while maintaining the traditional way of cooking. This is why our food taste authentic and satisfying”, added Rosmawati.
The live cooking stations recreates the pasar malam ambience where guests can enjoy popular ramadan favourites including ikan bakar, sotong bakar, satay, apam balik, pisang goreng, roti prata and more.
“We want to take our guests on a journey that excite their palate, delight their senses, and transport them to a delicious gastronomic adventure.,” said Rosmawati.
A Taste of ASIAN” showcases delicious authentic fares including Thai gaeng khiao waan gai, Vietnamese canh ga chien noc, Mongolian stir-fried, Yemeni mandi rice, Egyptian oum Ali and Iranian baklava, among others.
“We continue to curate a unique makan experience – to savour the varieties of flavours, cooking styles as well as unique ingredients that are used in these delicacies”.
Always a crowd’s favourite is the traditional Malaysian cuisines inspired from home recipes to well-known restaurants and even hawker stalls around the country.
These tasty offerings will evoke fond memories of distant hometowns and comfort food.
