TUARAN: Sabah Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai is running for the Tuaran parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election.
He is contesting under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) ticket, in which he is also the party’s information chief.
He hoped to win the seat to bring political and economic stability to the state and the country.
He is up against incumbent Upko president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, Jo-Anna Rampas (Warisan), Muminin Kalingkong @Norbinsha (Pejuang), Bobby Lewat (independent) and Datuk Noortaip Suhaili (independent).
The nomination of candidates were held at Tuaran community centre on Nov 5 and the polling day is on Nov 19.
