BHC 2020 is postponed due to Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU: The much-anticipated inaugural Borneo Hospitality Challenge 2020 has been postponed to a later month due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Its organising chairman Dion Jee said yesterday the event is postponed after taking into consideration the health and safety aspects of the competitors, sponsors and public.

“All the participants who have submitted their entries are still valid after the new date is announced,” Dion assured.

The event scheduled on May 30 and 31 at Sabah International Convention Centre has received confirmations from Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and Bangladesh.

There will compete in 20 categories including team challenge, flair tending, barista, latte art and mocktail.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate your understanding, high cooperation and support. We hope to see you soon at the event. We believe we can make it happen,” Dion said.

The event aims to put Sabah on the map as it will be competed by about 300 competitors and endorsed by International Food and Beverage Association and Malaysian Food and Beverage Executives Association. It is supported by Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment.
